Hi there I'm Carlos Amaro
About me
I'm the software developer your team needs!
I've been working in the industry for the last four years. Over this timeI've been in focused primarily on frontend development.
-
I have developed:
- Custom CMS
- Static pages
- Dynamic pages
I've been working with teams from all over the world.
I have overseen projects, ensuring the successful deployment of websites to production.
My beginnings:
I started programming at the age of 16 back in 2006 during high school. I learned to program using:
Pascal, Visual C, HTML y Mysql
At that time, I successfully created a static webpage using HTML and CSS, embedding an image carousel I learned to make on MySpace 🫂.
Back then, I didn't realize there was a growing industry in programming.
Life took me to a thousand places, except in front of a keyboard, until:
In 2013, I formally resumed my studies when I entered university.
Professional Education:
I enrolled in university with a clear goal of becoming a programmer
During my university education, which provided a comprehensive curriculum, I learned a variety of skills that have undoubtedly helped me in my professional career.
I spent countless hours acquiring the knowledge demanded by the industry, until in 2020, amidst the pandemic, I secured my first job.
I never stop learning; there’s always something new to dive into, and I love that...
Before my first job, I was reading an RFC because, in my ignorance, I was using my own PC as a web server.
Professional Experience:
I currently own a VPS and four web domains, three of which are hosted on the server.
This, along with my work as a developer and the clients I've had while working independently, has allowed me to learn a wide range of technologies.
I have learned to use NGINX for managing my server, redirecting traffic, signing my websites with SSL certificates, and generating usage metrics for applications.
I have the ability to create new functionalities in legacy systems using Node.js, as well as configure entirely new projects or reuse resources.
I am aware of the complexities involved in maintaining web systems, having contributed to the development of pages for significant clients in the pharmaceutical sector in the American market.
I have actively participated in creating reusable components for systems that are in production, paying attention to precise design and functionality for search engines. The pharmaceutical industry demands a strong foundation in accessibility when creating components for their applications, so I also possess skills in that area.
I keep myself updated on the latest web trends and participate annually in major web surveys.
Among the technologies I know, the main ones I use are:

Projects

Steam Engineering and Boilers
A project I worked on independently. In this case, the client needed a website for their business, so we created a site with a design that suited their needs. We also configured email with the domain of their website.

Econo-compras
Full-stack application created with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, JSON Web
Tokens, and PostgreSQL. This application is hosted on my VPS.
The biggest challenge of this
application was programming a couple of functions within the database.
